UPGRADE YOUR NBN® TECHNOLOGY

UPGRADE FOR ENHANCED ONLINE EXPERIENCES

We’re continuing to upgrade the nbn network to meet the evolving needs of Australians. With an upgrade in technology, you can access faster and more reliable speeds, which will help support activities including:

  • Multiple people and devices online at once
  • High quality streaming, with less buffering
  • Faster downloads and uploads, including working from the cloud
  • Work and learn from the comfort of home with less drop-outs

WAYS TO UPGRADE TO FIBRE

Full fibre over Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) is our fastest and most reliable home connection. It’s also a fantastic option for small and micro businesses who need enhanced connectivity to support mission-critical applications.

With an nbn full fibre connection, you could enjoy near gigabit speeds#, and access our full range of speed tiers*. With a higher nbn speed tier, you can upload and download, stream, game, learn and work online with more productivity and efficiency.

Upgrades to Fixed Wireless

We’re enhancing our Fixed Wireless network – so you can access better broadband. This is a great step forward for homes and businesses in regional and remote Australia looking for faster and more reliable speeds.

nbn Technology Choice Program

Through our nbn Technology Choice Program, you have the potential to change the nbn technology infrastructure at your premises to nbn Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) for a fee.

* Not all providers offer plans based on the full range of wholesale speed tiers. Talk to your preferred provider for more information about availability and the right retail solution for your needs.

# Regardless of the retail service you purchase, the actual wholesale speeds will be less than 1Gbps due to equipment and network limitations. Your experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn network, depends on the nbn access technology and configuration over which services are delivered to your premises, whether you are using the internet during the busy period, and some factors outside of nbn’s control (like your equipment quality, software, chosen broadband plan or how your provider designs its network). For nbn Fixed Wireless, speeds may also be impacted by the number of concurrent users on the nbn Fixed Wireless network, including during busy periods.

^ Conditions, eligibility criteria and costs will apply – please speak with your preferred provider. Eligibility criteria includes among other things, being designated by nbn as a simple premises and placing an order for an nbn powered plan based on an eligible wholesale speed tier. Additional costs may apply to providers, who may choose to pass this charge onto their customers.
