Important Notice
To help with the transition to the nbn® network, all eligible unmonitored medical alarm users have the opportunity to upgrade to an eligible new unmonitored medical alarm device through a participating device supplier at a reduced cost.
If you’re eligible for this upgrade offer, you could purchase an eligible new device from a participating device supplier at a discounted price of up to 80% off the regular price, up to a maximum of $300 off.
Am I eligible for this alarm upgrade offer?
To be eligible, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Own an eligible existing unmonitored medical alarm or be authorised by the owner of an existing unmonitored medical alarm to dispose of that existing alarm and upgrade it to an eligible new unmonitored medical alarm device.

- Agree to return your old unmonitored medical alarm to the supplier for disposal once you’ve received your eligible new device. Your new alarm will come with a reply-paid post bag.

Is your alarm registered on nbn's Medical Alarm Register?
1. You confirm that to the best of your knowledge any information you submit to the nbn Medical Alarm Register is correct and accurate.
2. Registering a medical alarm on the MAR will allow nbn to identify households or premises with medical alarms where action may be needed to help minimise a break in service.
3. The rollout of the nbn network involves new technologies and some existing devices, including medical alarms, may not be compatible with these at all times.
4. If you have a medical alarm you should contact the medical alarm service or device provider for more information about whether the medical alarm will be capable of working normally over the nbn™ access network, and, if necessary, what alternative solutions are available. In many cases, professionally monitored medical alarm service providers may be able to recommend and supply a new medical alarm unit that will no longer rely on the fixed line network.
5. nbn is not in a position to provide advice about specific devices due to the wide range of different devices in the market.
