Matt Dawson was formerly Satellite Program Director at NBN Co.

Matt was the Program Director of NBN Co's $2 billion satellite program to build a satellite network to deliver broadband services to regional Australians.

Matt has over 28 years' experience with some of this country's largest and complex technology programs including a rocket decoy against the Exorcet missile (Nulka), the Jindivik drone jet and directing the engineering development of mission critical, RF communication networks for the RAAF across Australasia. 

Previously, he was accountable for large corporate systems and networks as the Group General Manager of Tabcorp's IT Infrastructure and Operations as well as an Executive at IBM, Telstra, Lend Lease JV – Advantra. Building on his experience as a senior consultant at Price Waterhouse, Matt was a founding owner and director of IPI Pty Ltd, which grew into a multi-million dollar professional services firm before selling to ASX listed SMS Management and Technology. 

Before becoming the Program Manager for BHP’s global IT outsourcing, he led the integration of the Information Technology for BHP Billiton’s acquisition of Western Mining Corporation and headed up the Program office for the IT systems integration program following the ANZ's bank acquisition of National Bank of New Zealand.

He holds a Masters of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Engineering and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
