Morgans modernises its connectivity with nbn
3-minute read
nbn's business-grade fibre connectivity, delivered by Superloop, enables Morgans to deliver excellent branch and advisory experience for its clients.
In a world that thrives on delivering exceptional digital experiences, financial services firm Morgans found a way to unlock real value – with a traditional relationship approach backed by a robust tech infrastructure.
As Australia’s largest full-service stockbroking and wealth management firm, Morgans is focused on ensuring it delivers excellent services that cater to each individual client’s needs.
With 500 authorised representatives across 59 locations in Australia, Morgans continuously fosters personal relationships with its clients. From a technology standpoint, this entails future-looking services with a reliable network at its core.
Meeting customer expectations
Customer needs are changing more than ever, requiring additional digital touchpoints as the company’s client base becomes increasingly tech-savvy. Morgans’ customers want to access information in real-time and get in touch with advisers effortlessly, emphasising the need for business-grade fibre connectivity to power its systems.
“It was important to us that our advisory branches were set up for success,” says Matt Neubauer, Chief Information Officer at Morgans.
“This meant empowering them with the tech and capabilities they need to be able to provide good customer service.”

In addition, Morgans wanted to reduce the time taken to connect any new branch office to the internet.
And while enabling all of this, security needed to be robust.
“What’s also critical is ensuring that our clients’ data remains secure. Ensuring the privacy of our clients’ data is central to keeping their trust and valuing our relationships with them,” says Matt.
An agile collaboration
Superloop – an nbn retail service provider, emerged as the perfect partner for Morgans’ connectivity needs.
Morgans was looking for a more agile and versatile solution where the company’s users could pivot and react quickly to change.
Through Superloop, Morgans moved from a centralised hub and spoke model hosted in the company’s data centre, to a more distributed architecture that better suits software-as-a-service solutions (SaaS).

“We work closely with customers, like Morgans, to help not just refresh their business internet, but also to support their growth as a partner,” said Daisey Stampfer, Group Executive Strategy and Transformation at Superloop.
“We help ensure that Morgans continues to meet the needs of its clients by supporting a seamless connection that services all its branches, and therefore enabling a fast and efficient service.”
Digital transformation and scalability
Morgans upgraded from a traditional multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) network to a new software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), while also adopting Salesforce’s customer relationship management (CRM) product suite.
The company is launching a new website and client portal, which aims to optimise client experience and serve as another tool for Morgans advisers to use for their work.
Superloop also updated Morgans’ old apps and helped the company adopt a modern approach to its digital infrastructure, so it can adapt to changes in the tech regulation space.
“We recognise that our customers need support in simplifying their network environment and improving efficiency,” says Daisey.

This meant Superloop streamlined the delivery of services so that Morgans could realise value earlier, while focusing on security, managing costs and ensuring a good customer experience.
“We value our partnership with Superloop and nbn, which has enabled us to transform our connectivity infrastructure and enhance our client experiences,” says Matt.
With the help of Superloop and business nbn® Enterprise Ethernet, Morgans has deployed a scalable, agile and versatile network infrastructure that helps to ensure the company can pivot quickly where needed to support its ongoing connectivity needs.^
Enterprise Ethernet provides a high level of reliability for organisations, including uptime guarantees, as well as making faster upload and download speeds on the nbn network much more accessible.^+
This is just another way that nbn, through its strong network of phone and internet providers like Superloop, is helping businesses and the community to stay productive and responsive to customer needs by creating the infrastructure that supports Australia’s digital economy.
^ nbn is very happy with Morgan Financial Limited’s experience with the nbn network. Of course, end customer experiences may vary. An end customer’s experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn network, depends on the configuration over which services are delivered to their premises, whether they are using the internet during the busy period, and some factors outside of nbn’s control (like their equipment quality, software, chosen broadband plan, signal reception, or how their provider designs its network). For business nbn Enterprise Ethernet, if your service provider has not selected the Class of Service – High, the speeds you experience may be affected by contention on the nbn network, particularly in busy periods.
+ business nbn Enterprise Ethernet is only available in the nbn Fixed Line network footprint and at limited premises served by the nbn Fixed Wireless and Satellite networks. Contact your preferred service provider to ask about availability and any fees and charges that may apply.
