Upgrading your HFC nbn™ connection box


If you’ve received a new nbn™ connection box to install in place of the existing one inside your premises, you can then set it up in place of your existing one using the instructions supplied in your package. To help prepare you for your nbn™ supplied equipment upgrade, we’ve provided a summary of the steps.

An overview of your installation



Receive your new nbn™ connection box via registered mail

Remember, you may need to collect it from your local Australia Post office if you’re not there to sign for it when it arrives. 


Set up your new nbn™ connection box in place of your existing one (10-15 minutes)

Your existing nbn™ connection box will look like the one pictured below.

Unplug it, along with its coaxial and power cables and set it to one side. You can then set up your new nbn™ connection box using the instructions enclosed with it. A copy of these instructions can be downloaded below.

Remember to keep an alternative form of communication handy during this time, as your phone and internet services won't work.

Wait for your new nbn™ connection box to reboot (15-20 minutes)

You’ll know that it’s working correctly when all four lights on the front of the box turn solid green. You can then continue using your phone and internet services as usual.
