Local pub raises toast to faster broadband

Travellers no longer have to feel disconnected from family and friends at the Alma Hotel in Willunga, SA

With all the charm of a by-gone era, the charismatic Alma Hotel is a family-run country hotel built in 1856 in Willunga, South Australia.

The pub is frequently visited by Willunga locals and passers-by that are travelling their way across Australia.

Offering guests a comfortable place to take a load off, it makes a great stop en route through South Australia.

One of the great attractions about the pub is the free Wi-Fi for guests over the nbn™ network – owner, Melinda McAuley said it was previously not possible to have multiple users on the same connection at one time.

For those travelling it can mean a good opportunity to catch up on emails, Facebook and even Skype with family – now that’s something to cheers about!

The staff can also see the benefits of being connected. It is possible for them all to be connected at once, looking up recipes in the kitchen, running admin upstairs and using the wireless EFTPOS machines in the hotel drive through.
