Lift off! Our satellites will bridge Australia’s digital divide
How fast broadband will help almost half a million Aussies in regional areas from falling behind
In 2015, Australia will launch a rocket into space – sending up the first of two of the biggest telecommunications satellites in the world to help close the digital divide between the city and bush.
But why does it matter? Well despite having one of the world's best education systems, students in rural Australia, along with businesses, health services and homes, are all at risk of falling behind in a very competitive digital world.
